Sealing fittings prevent passage of gases, vapor or flames from one portion of a conduit system to another. The seal must be placed in each conduit within 3” of the device that may produce arcs or sparks.
The powder is an insulating compound contained in a polyethylene bag within the outer container. It is not affected by gasoline, alcohol, oils, or lacquer solvents. To mix, remove the bag of powder, fill the container with water to the “water line” and pour the powder.
Ceramic fiber is used to make a dam in the space between the integral bushing of the seal fitting hub, the conduit end and around the electrical conductors prior to pouring compound.
